Located in downtown Eugene, OR, this 300,000 sq ft facility serves as the city hall and main administrative building for Lane County. With the demolition of the prior city hall over a decade ago, the remaining functions have been moved to Lane Circuit Court across the street. In order to consolidate all of these various functions as well as various other government agencies such as the attorney general and mayor's offices, the program called for transparency and openness. In order to digress from dominance and authoritative appeal of past precedents, this building serves to facilitate social interaction and exist as a resource for the entire community, housing educational programs, dining areas, and a lending library.
